Wildlife Greetings

Todays Inspiration

Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.

  1. I definitely have favorites and some things that go almost completely unworn but it still makes me happy to see them there. I’m actually trying to work at wearing my favorites more often and not save them 🙃. Have a lovely day Rory ☺️

  2. I have favorites and wear about half of my wardrobe evenly. I’ve tried to dump most things I never wear, though I have a few dresses for special occasions. My big success is getting rid of uncomfortable shoes and having a smaller group of ones I can wear without suffering!

  3. I have work clothes, which I wear every day, just changing over them each day. Black trousers, blouses, and in the winter cardigans and jumpers. In the winter I wear a lot of leggings at home, and jumpers. I love a good jumper. I probably wear about under twenty% of my wardrobe but can’t throw anything away.

  4. Hi Rory. I wear joggers and tees every day. I own one frock (worn once in July 2017 for my niece’s wedding), 2 skirts from my working days (wore one in the summer as it was cooler than joggers)
a couple of cardigans, 2 jumpers, and own two pairs of trainers, a pair of crocs, boots and a pair of slippers. I guess my style is 100% the same every day.

  5. Hey Rory. Bud and I both enjoy old comfortable cotton clothing best and have favorites we wear every week. We have both donated most of the better clothes we used in the past when we were more active socially and try to continue to weed them out periodically. We find with age comfort is the rule now. 😊

    1. Hey Betty l agree also, l especially have sensitivity issues with clothing so old, worn and comfortable is best.

As l now work mostly in the garden, the reserve, the allotment with compost or worms or gardening, l too have looked at my wardrobe and started to declutter again.

      1. Yes I need to pull out the winter clothing – I just don’t want to… then I admit winter is upon us … I’m trying to wish it away with my warm thoughts lol ✌️🙏

But yes at this point I need the warmer clothing – meh … jackets and sweaters ugh … so bulky and extra things to wear or bring

      2. Better to be warm than frozen is my philosophy 🙂

How cold does it get in your neck of the woods? We are incredibly lucky at present with the weather,November just around the conrer and still today we were in tee shirts.

But l reckon you rock winter wear anyway 🙂

      3. Well remember – I live in California … anything below 70 is frigid lol

In January we can hit into 30’s/40’s

        Nothing like Massachusetts and Maine

        I am a wimp now

We can still wear tshirts but there is definite chill in air and as night falls… it gets down into 40s-50’s

I’m just wimpy / been in California for long time now lol

        I do ok… but it’s winter wear 😝

      4. You are not a wimp hahaha, you have just climatised to your weather elements 🙂

I am not a wimp, but l struggle with the heat now and l never used to, now ironically, whilst l don’t like it freezing so my bits drop off in shock, but l like it cooler these days than l used to.

If l went to Australia to live again as an example, l would struggle for a while but reclimatise 🙂

      5. Ahhh good point! “Climatized” I like that ❤️✌️

I do not like temps over 105 – I can handle 105 at the highest… but I can’t not handle 115 so well. And when are consecutive days of massive heat – ughh it’s brutal!

But I prefer the sweat of heat over freezing 🥶

My bones do not like freezing

Several times a year we would go visit family in New England – we go back and it be so cold for Christmas and blizzards and things …

We moved back when my dad got sick… and still awful!! Black ice, snow covers everything – still had to go to school or work usually or make it up 😝

No one can drive in bad weather!! 🤷‍♀️

Ugh the cold and things that come with it

But heat has that too 🔥 I do not like to worry when gonna be fire

My body itself does better and is more alive in heat 😄😄 well that came out wrong but whatever lol

But it is true – I move better and AM more alive when temps are warm and is summer

In winter – meh … my spirit animal is hibernating bear 🐻 lol ✌️

Ugh winter and then also add massively commercialized and spoiled holidays and ugh

Yeah I not overly excited by winter at all lol

I am slower – loss of energy – have to peel self out from covers lol

Yeah I am definitely summer girl lol ✌️

      6. You know that line in the film Jerry Maguire “You had me at hello?” [If not it’s below]

Well once l read the line here … ‘My body itself does better and is more alive in heat’ hahaha, well you had me there, now what were you saying … ?

Anyway all humour aside. I like it cooler now, but as said not so cold l can’t move haha. In Kent we are very lucky as we are so far south east that we don’t often get really cold snowy weathers like you have described here, but it doesn’t not snow, but when it does its gone in a matter of hours a day at max.

We all get slower in the cold and we come alive more in heat, erm l mean when it’s hotter 🙂

      7. Have you ever seen a bee when is cold? Lol they stop moving and look dead – but minute it heats up they are alive 😮

Yes and isn’t your area warmer than normal this year?

I haven’t seen that movie in FOREVER! That is blast from past lol ❤️

  6. Great question. I actually have had a tendency to wear my least favorite clothes more often and save my favorite clothes. Somehow I was trying to wear out the old stuff because I have an aversion to getting rid of wearable clothes. Lately, though, I have made a concerted effort to donate and discard items that I no longer like and am employing a “use it or lose it” philosophy with a more even rotation. I once saved a favorite pair of shoes for decades only to have the rubber soles disintegrate at a party. Or the moths get to the clothes. Maybe because I am 75, I am finally asking, “What am I saving these for?”

    1. This is a very good answer geoff, for l am of the same philosophy – l have a good portion of my wardrobe unworm, but l love the items l am not wearing, however now l hardly spend any time inside the house, l very rarely socialise and so l have no need for much of the unworm wardrobe BUT l love the items.

However because l am always outside, gardening, composting, worm farming, harvesting dirt, l think well how the hell am l supposed to wear the good stuff then?
