Women vs Men

When we compare the strength of men versus women, we realize that men may have more physical strength but women have the upper hand when it comes to mental strength.
I am talking about a woman who can stand on her own two feet. Who can brave the storms and hold her own. A woman who faces the challenges of life. Who takes the world head-on!

She would withstand tremendous pressure and not bend or break. It’s a woman who holds the family life together. It is she, who does the work of ten people without (often) getting acknowledgment.

I am trying to be that woman. I want to be able to take care of myself, without having to depend upon others. I am aiming to fend for myself and my family when I need to. I want to travel alone and visit places that I have dreamed of. The feminist would ask: Why should it be a man’s job to look after the women in his life? Why can’t women look after themselves? The truth is that it’s usually the other way around. Women being the more organized of the two can plan and organize family life.

It is said that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. True, but what is called the weaknesses in a woman are her strong points.
She is emotional and that makes her empathetic and compassionate towards others, who are less fortunate, downtrodden, and weaker than herself. Women often take a stand for the powerless people of our society. The emotional side of a woman makes her strong enough to take on the defence of others weaker than herself.
A woman lacks physical strength but only a woman can bear and give birth to a child, a feat that a man cannot even imagine. The level of pain a woman goes through during childbirth is tremendous and she is(usually) ready to go through that again after a gap of some time. This speaks of the untold and unheralded strength of a woman.
She is easily upset. Cries at small things but laughs at smaller things too! If she didn’t have these qualities, how would she raise a family. Being a mother mainly consists of keeping sane. These emotional outbursts keep her sane and the family too.
To enumerate all the positive qualities of women would take me many hours, as she is so special a being!
But to sum it up, I would say that a strong woman, well-adjusted in her life is a force to be reckoned with. so: To you all women out there, I would say that stiffen that backbone of yours and stand up for yourself!

  1. I’m grateful for the share of this post Rory. Many thanks my friend.
I usually don’t procrastinate. If I need to do something, I do it. If I’m sleepy, I take a nap first or if I’m hungry I get a snack! Otherwise, I just get down to doing what needs to be done. 😂

    1. Awesome observations Sadje, and so very true. We do many jobs for our families… chef, chauffer, maid, therapist, teacher… just to name a few. If we actually received payment for all these jobs, we’d have large bank accounts😂😂🤗🥰

  2. Exhaustion is my leading cause of procrastination. But my exhaustion competes with my “just get it done, then you can rest” voice, so I generally drag myself thru the things that need doing.
Unfortunately, there’s always more, but “plenty of time to rest when I’m dead” right?!🤪😂😂💌💌

  3. Wonderful essay, Sadje! Thank you. And thank you, Rory for posting it.

I must admit I have gotten into a pattern of procrastination in recent years. I blame it on age. At last I have an excuse. 😊

I think it’s odd how the mind works. When a person is young they think they are immortal and don’t give a thought to working day and night, taking life threatening risks, going without proper food and rest, imbibing dangerous things for fun without a care. But when we get old the reverse is true and we become super sensitive to our mortality and overly cautious. I find myself wanting to take things easy , take naps and do tend to put off unsavory chores. Aging is difficult and has a lot of challenges, but for me, I think the worst is procrastination, because, let’s face it, there aren’t a whole lot of days left to take care of it all.
