Hello To 2023

Hello To 2023
First off, I wish you all a fabulously healthy New Year!

I will make this as brief as l am able…

So, what’s on the menus for Earthly Comforts this year, and how were our first 146 days or 21 weeks or nearly five months – just in case you wondered about that?

They were fine, mighty fine. I thank you all for making that happen. August to December 2022 was more of an explorative journey into how things worked with this blog for me.

When l was first creating this blog, it wasn’t on view to the general public. Only a handful of Beta Admins were present daily, watching the build. One of the first targets was to see what percentages of the blog were going to be placed and classed under the three main genres. These are Niche, Business and Socio-Community.

Only niche and socio-community tags have been present for the last few months. The ‘business side’ has only been marginally represented under the Redbubble designs you see in the banners. Whilst l had initially launched an affiliate with Morning Light Music. This was taken out of the advertising element in November last year to relaunch later this coming year.

Earthly Comforts will never follow the steps of the typical business blog models as they make me uncomfortable anyway as a viewer when l see them elsewhere, so whichever path l decide to walk down, it will always be reader-orientated only and not reader-offensive.

Twenty-two of the proposed 28 2022 series were launched successfully between August and December. Four mainstream series were stopped and released as featurettes only within the Wildlife Greetings or Lasting Thoughts of the Day series.

The social prompt category was an area l struggled with because l was trying to find the balance between what Earthly Comforts, a scrapbook wildlife journal, would easily display over what the Guy stories and tales blog used to show. The two blogs were distinctly different, and l had to remember that.

However, l have found ‘prompt balance’ with the question formats l offer.

The Morning Dawdler

Earthly Comforts for 2023 has five main categories – Country Life Style Diary, Earthen Tales, Composting, Vermiculture and The Gallery. All categories are currently active and had published content last year, although Country Life Style Diary, Earthen Tales and The Gallery were more active. This year all five will find their audiences specifically.

Under those five categories are a total of twenty-nine series and eight featurettes. The last six of the original line-up series will be launched over the next eight weeks: Tales From The Apothecary, Shop Tales, Soil Science, The Authentic Recyclers, Vermicomposting Content and Ewww Quick Tips.

In addition, four new Featurettes will be introduced between January and December 2023, found in the Wildlife Greetings and Lasting Thoughts series.

One of the brand new series for this year, starting initially on a short trial period but which will eventually run all year, is the latest question-styled prompt. It will be known as The Morning Dawdler and will start this Tuesday at 06.55 am. Once established, it will publish on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings.

It sits under the Question Time Over Coffee [QTOC] banner under the Country Life Style Diary category. It will comprise four questions from all walks of life, covering many topics and subjects and, in essence, is the new but shorter old Saturday morning prompt.

Other newer featurettes and series will be introduced to you in the coming months.

So till then, thanks for reading, and I’ll see you next time.
