A little bit about my blog and writing style:

Writing was never my forte, and English is not my native language, but my love for food and travel inspired me to take the plunge about ten years ago to start my blog. I wanted an outlet, a way to express and share my experiences with the world – so I took the plunge. Now, more than a decade later, and with countless posts under my belt, I decided to make that step and start sharing my journey of food, travel, and inspiration online.

I’ve used this platform for many years to tell my story through words and pictures. From the exciting dishes I cook in my kitchen to spontaneous adventures here or there, I’ve enjoyed having a place to share it all with like-minded people. And not only has it been fun to explore new ideas, but connecting with everyone around me through comments and conversations has made the journey even more enjoyable.

I am a nutritionist, pastry chef, recipe developer, food writer, and, ultimately, a passionate home cook. I love Mediterranean cuisine, and I advocate using fresh, local, and seasonal produce. I am dedicated to helping people better understand nutrition and have a healthier relationship with their food. I am on a mission to help spread the real food message to as many people as possible through my blog, Popsicle Society. My food philosophy is: “Eat a little bit of everything.”

What are you most scared of about the future?

Dying. I know it sounds silly, but I am too curious to see what will happen with our world in the future to just die.

What do you do for relaxation?

Walking in nature or simply being outside with a good book helps me relax.

Do you prefer to be in the garden, the kitchen, or somewhere else in or out of your house, and where?

Honestly, both the garden and the kitchen are my favourite places. Unfortunately, I don’t have a garden where I live now, but my little balcony has all the herbs I need in my cooking.

How many cups of tea, coffee or other [what] do you drink a day and when?

I enjoy a cappuccino for breakfast and an espresso after lunch. Occasionally, a cup of hot herbal tea in the evening.

Do you prefer to cook for friends or go out to a restaurant?

Both. I like cooking and seeing my friends enjoying my food, but I also want to experience new dishes at a restaurant.

What foods can you not live without, and what foods can you not eat?

I cannot live without fruits and veggies and, of course, pizza. I cannot eat fatty meats.

When did you first discover your love for cooking?

Cooking has been a passion of mine since I was little. Growing up, I enjoyed nothing more than helping my grandma in the kitchen.

If you had all the free time in the world, what would you do with it?

I’ll travel the world.

What is the ethos behind your blog?

Cooking healthy food can be easy; it only requires a bit of time and some good recipes! That’s why I decided to share some of the recipes I have collected over time and make people understand that cooking healthy is quite simple. Whenever I get asked how I manage to cook every day without spending too much time in the kitchen, I tell them that it’s all about organising and combining all ingredients for maximum flavour in minimal time. So if you don’t have enough time or skill to cook healthy food, you should read my blog!
There we go folks, l hope you enjoyed this morning’s Community Chat with Ribana as much l did.
