A Suicidal Cold Day

A Suicidal Cold Day

A lonely day adrift in whitened snow,
Ice splinters aglow,
Moistened by droplets,
Freshly sewn and hot,
Slowly spreading upon ripening ground,
… and peacefully glistening without sound,

Silently dawning upon,
Nature’s rising cold sun,
A lost solitude in the final throes,
And so very alone, as the story goes,
Lifelong love disappearing into the ruts,
… of the hardened soil covered somewhat,

And blinded by snow glare,
The silently frozen eyes fixedly stare,
Upward in a hopeless plea,
The shattered soul is now free,
Hollow thoughts have now borne,
Upon breezes of no scorn,

Sadness trials this cold day,
The dying smile faded away,
The essence of a once-lived force,
Sluggishly drying in remorse,
The time has come now to mourn,
Death within winter’s rose thorn.
