Who would have thunk it? Useless facts until you need useless facts. Supermarket apples sold in-stores can be up to a year old. Before toilet paper was invented, Americans used to use corn cobs to wipe away the you know whats! I am guessing that is the husk, because l struggle to comprehend any other method. The tongue of the blue whale can weigh as much as an elephant! Kind of puts a lot of weight into tongue twister … There are more microorganisms in one teaspoon of soil than there are people on earth – which makes you wonder about those kids that used to eat dirt! Butterflies actually love the garden weeds more than they do your prized roses and that’s because it’s all about scent and the nectar! I know, right! Who would have thunk it? |
Wishing all you great folks a fabulous day! |

Perhaps the kids who are mud as small children, have very strong immunity.
Interesting share Rory.

Good morning Rory! Very interesting facts indeed! Supermarket apples sold in-stores can be up to a year old? That’s crazy!

Hey Ribana, yes, it’s because they have them in cold storage for very long periods of time. Certainly explains why a lot of veg and fruit go off very quickly once the consumer purchases.

Oh yes, after I purchase them from the supermarket, are off after only 3-4 days 😅

Yep, I knew that about apples. The butterflies are smart going for the garden weeds before the prized roses! Have a great day, Rory!

It is always good to carry a corn husk with you on a hike in case of emergency.
