Let The Night Fall Let the light of dusk shine through the marshmallow clouds. Van Gogh swirls of blue and teal dance as the sun dips down. Let the tree frogs take up their peeping as a woman takes up her paint brush and canvas. Let the night fall. Let the dew fall on the long forgotten gravestones. Let the stars prove that all that glitters is not gold. Let the birds retire to their nests. Let the bedroom grow dark as lovers embrace. Let the night fall. To the flowers dying by the roadside, to the nocturnal fox in search of dinner, to the breeze through the pines. Let the night fall. Let it fall, as it does, as it always has, and fret not. For love does not forsake its comforting glow. Let the night fall. Copyright © 2023 Kristian Weigman |
