We’re everyday gardeners — practical, grounded, and quietly committed. We care deeply about gardens, and we care just as much about the people behind them. Each of us brings something unique to the table, yet we all share the same values: service, trust, and presence.

Rory Matier Founder & Lead Gardener “I launched Earthly Comforts in September 2022 with just one client, a handful of battered tools, and a vision for something quieter, more deliberate, and deeply rooted in care. After two years of volunteering with Gazen Salts Nature Reserve, I felt drawn to build a gardening business grounded in local connection, seasonal awareness, and sincere service. My past in catering, butlering, advertising, and brokering taught me the power of attentive service — gardening is simply the next natural extension of that. I love what I do. I love helping gardens (and people) find their own rhythm.”

Suzanne Turner Assistant Gardener · Administrator Suzanne is a seasoned property manager who now brings her calm, precise touch to both homes and gardens. She joined Earthly Comforts in 2023 and splits her time between regular garden maintenance and behind-the-scenes administration. She’s a hands-on doer — though she might modestly call herself a “potterer” or “finisher” — and her steady, observant presence is a real asset to gardens, homes, and our clients alike.
