Composting

Composting*

Composting is a process of organic recycling in its simplest form. The art of encouraging the decomposition process naturally with bacteria, worms and other invertebrates that live within the soils, microorganisms and air movements. It produces an end product known as compost, an excellent plant fertiliser.

I produce fifteen to twenty tonnes of compost per year for use on our allotment and love experimenting with different techniques and styles.
“Nature demands a gift for everything that it gives, so what we have to keep doing, is returning [leaves & compost materials] back to the soil, then we’re continuously giving the gifts to nature, because we have a return cycle.”
